Honestly, I didn't like the idea of writing a blog when I just started this class. But, later on I feel that this activities are helpful. It does give me a chance to comment on the class activities and understand more about management. It also helps to know the class better. Other than that, I didn't think of anything else.

My personality

I think the personality test that we did last time was very helpful. This test helps me to understand and identify my characteristic clearly. The result for my test I have D high S
The professor said that this type of personality is a person with big IDEA, creative and ambition but always keeps the idea to himself, not a sharing type ^)^ . I think this quiet fit me. I also think this is good to know what you really are, so you would have a idea of what is really going to fit you in the future and how do you want to improve or try to change your personality to fit with your working environment.

After graduating from Baruch, I want to get a job in finance field.
Then I would want to get more information and gain more experience on this field. I want to become a good investor who can see the opportunity and follow it. This is also a good time for me to go back to my country to open business because the economic is booming there. Saving money is also important thing that I should control myself not to spend on many unnecessary things. Besides, I need to improve my communication skill which is very important to become a business man. I also want to learn another language either Chinese or Spanish which I’m working on right now. I think that's it. I could have more but right now I can't think of anything so I'll just put it here.

One for all (decision making)

The method that I used to handle conflict during our class activity is "Collaborating" in which required bargaining and negotiation among group. I really appreciated the option that we chose at the end of class which was "dropping and curving". I think that was the best option for everyone. Although some of the student didn't like the idea. They said it was too easy to get the grade and it wasn't fair for them because of the fact that they had good grade. I strongly disagree with them because I didn’t do well on the exam. I got minus 18 points for the multiple choice part that I believe if I know the multiple choices part is multiple multiple choices; I would have done much better on the exam. I understand clearly the definition but I only chose one answer for the each question. I got minus 18 points for 6 questions. I end up getting a C for the test. So anyone still think this is not fair, please see the way "Accommodation" in the table "how to handle conflict" when you see issue as more important to other than self. That's true if every one can see that there wouldn't have been too much of argument. I think this is the best way to handle conflict.

Planning eggs drop

In planning process, my team completed all of the five steps which included step 1 through 5. We planned out what we supposed to do and assigned each task to each group member. I was the one who helping to cut the straw (designer). Others gave out idea and drew the 3-D picture. We also knew where we stand in reaching the objective when someone in my group told us to be hurry in covering the egg with straws because we didn't have much time.

We developed many alternatives for the plan and decided to do the "spider man straw" unfortunately it didn't work out. In the end we just finished it by covering up the egg without any design. It looked terrible ha-ha

my team's performance is fine since we are just egg design amateur. I could cut the straw and design the egg more effectively if I have been given more time. Thus, timing is an important factor in achieving success. The more time we have, the better the result will be. Besides I think the most important step in planning is to choose the alternative and give out the idea because if the idea won't work the whole project will equal to zero.

Biggest Management Problem

My biggest management problem is how to be able to manage myself effectively. I find it really hard to concentrate on studying when I am at home, because I spend most of my time at home watching movie, checking email, playing game. Even if i know it is a wasted of time, I still can't help it. the only time i can study is when i am at school listening to the lecture and taking note and when i am at the library reading book. I think sometime the internet is really bad because it makes people spend time on it for nothing. But sometime it really help us like doing the homework problem and research for information study. Sigh.. I will try hard from now on not to spend much time on the internet and use those time for reading book. Happy
